about me

Hi! I’m Mikaela, a Certified Non-Diet Nutrition Coach that specializes in body image & disordered eating. I believe your relationship with food is a sign that something more might be going on beneath the surface. In working with me, we will uncover the underlying cause & heal at the root. I’m here to help you finally have peace with your body, food, & exercise so that you can live an abundant, free, & present life.

 

I personally struggled for years with disordered eating swinging between two extremes, obsessive “clean" eating and uncontrollable binging. I felt out of control, actually food was controlling my life. All the while, I used exercise as punishment and my way to “make-up” for what I ate. I was stuck in an endless, exhausting cycle until finally I hit rock bottom & sought professional help. It transformed my life and the way I show up in the world.

 

You don't have to try to figure it out alone anymore. You don't have wait 9 years I like I did to get the support you deserve. I am here to support you through recovery & teach you the skills you need to continue to live in peace with your body, food & exercise.

Non-Diet

 I believe in nourishing your body with foods that make you feel good, rather than restricting certain foods or food groups. Our focus will be cultivating self-trust & self-confidence around food & your body.

I believe in Health At Every Size (HAES). Size, weight & BMI are not a sign or measurement of health. You & your body are welcomed here & are deserving of life free from diets & the societal standards of health & beauty.

I believe in a personalized approach to achieving food freedom. I know that not everyone's journey looks the same, & that's why I offer therapy-like sessions coupled with goals that are tailored to your unique needs.

A 12 week 1:1 coaching program that will help you stop dieting & guide you to peace with your body, food, & exercise so that you can live an abundant & present life.

what's included?

1 hour Weekly Coaching Calls 

Coaching calls are personalized based on your needs and in general you can expect each call to include the following: review goals, address any current struggles or road blocks, implementation or practice of coping mechanisms & end by setting new goals for the following week. 

specific goal setting that creates sustainable transformation 

Together each week we will review and set new personalized goals or continue working on the previous week's goal depending on progress. Goals could be centered around anything from body image, to food, to personal wants & needs. 

education & implementation of mental & emotional coping mechanisms

Food can be a great way to soothe & comfort emotions, I know this from first hand experience & there is no shame in that. However when food is our only way to cope, it can become unhealthy, so I want to equip you with a tool box of coping mechanism to use at your disposal. 

supplement resources to support weekly coaching calls

The supplemental resources will be hand-selected on a per client basis in order to support your individual needs during the recovery process. Resources could be anything from articles to podcast to journal prompts. 

fact based nutrition education

There is a lot of information out there, and not all of it's factual. I'll be thoughtful when providing nutrition information, ensuring it's backed by research, rather than trends in diet & wellness culture. Instead, our main focus will be instilling confidence to make food decisions that are best for you.
